once you have analyzed & have a (always incomplete) sketch of the histories of struggle, resistance, solidarity & joy that are the most important contents of our collective pasts & presents, and you remain pessimistic – especially in a cynical and/or totalizing sense – you’re doing a disservice to (& disrespecting) those who struggled for better times & worlds before you, those that are struggling now and those that will struggle in the future – including yourself.
